• Introduction                              


Indian cinema, often referred to us Bollywood, holds a special place in the hearts of millions worldwide. In 1913, Dadasaheb Phalke released Raja Harishchandra (1913) in Bombay,the first film made in India. Cinema is also known as motion picture or movies , is a medium of visual storytelling that combines images, sound and movement to create a narrative .

The history of Indian cinema is a fusion of cultural and technological advancements .

  1. Origination of Lumiere Brother and ' Tha Wrestler '

Our great history of Indian cinema beings in 1896. The Lumiere Brother display their pioneering films in Mumbai , know as Bombay at the time. These initial screenings marked the birth of cinema in India .

   2. Birth of Bollywood : Dadasaheb        Phalke and  Raja Harishchandra   


Dadasaheb Phalke also as Father of the indian cinema, in 1913 he released `Raja Harishchandra ′ India's first full-length feature film. this film is not only achieving a commercial success but also introduced the talent of Indian filmmaker. The first Indian film to be screened in London in 1914.


  3. The Golden Age : 1950's & 1960's




The 1950s and 1960s are also known as the Golden Age of Indian cinema. This era present the rise of legendary actors sach as Meena Kumari, Raj Kapoor, Guru Dutt, Dillip Kumy, Dev Anand and more. Their performances left an Unbreakable mark on Indian film history, creating timeless classics as per the history of Indian cinema.






  4. The Era Of Masala Movies 



In the history of Indian cinema, the 1970s are introduced the era of masala movies in bollywood. Actors and Actresses like Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini ,  Dharmendra and  
other, captivated audience with their charisma. Blockbuster film like [sholay] achieved both domestic and 
international acclaim propelling 
Amitabh Bachchan to superstardom.


  5. The 1990s & Beyond

The 1990s brought a fresh wave of actors, including Sharukh Khan, Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Amir Khan, Ajay Devgan, Shreedevi. These actors finding new technique, elevating Indian cinema to greater heights. In 2008 A.R Rahman Academy Award for the `slumdog millionaire ′ soundtrack marked a significant milestone.
